Silence at the Gunners front

While the big guns of local football are busy in the transfer market, there seems to be little taking place at Lobtrans Gunners. The Lobatse survival specialists have reportedly not registered any player, two weeks after the transfer period opened. Some Gunners' supporters have expressed concern that the club management is once again too slow in beefing up the squad.

Team manager Lesiamang Lesiamang told Mmegi Sport that they are still negotiating with players they want to recruit. At the moment, two strikers from Zimbabwe and Zambia are on trial at Gunners. "Recruiting players has various stages and the final stage is when you have registered the player and you have the registration book with you. We are still talking to four or five players.

This is the stage where teams are interested in the same players and it is not easy to get the player that you need," Lesiamang said.
He conceded that Gunners need key players in defence, mid-field and upfront. He said that they are looking for at least one key player in each department. He said they lacked a seasoned finisher in the just-ended Mascom Premier League. He added that besides the strikers from Zambia and Zimbabwe, they are interested in an experienced local marksman.
