Sacked Radipotsane fires back

Sacked BMC coach, Oris Radipotsane has fired a salvo at officials of the club saying that they are difficult to work with.

The coach, who was on a three-month probation, accused the committee of failing to embrace change. He said the committee, which has served for 10 years has outlived its purpose. "The problem is that they (officials) have been in office for 10 years and they do not want change," Radipotsane said. He described the working environment at BMC as un-conducive. The coach was shown the door after a poor start to the season, which saw the Lobatse side win just one out of six games. However, he said that his firing has come too early as other clubs are also struggling. He gave the example of defending champions, Gaborone United who were clobbered 4-1 by Motlakase over the weekend.

BMC public relations officer, Themba Stimela, said they held meetings with Radipotsnae every fortnight to assess the team's performance.  During their latest assessment, they found that the team was not performing according to expectations. He said this is why they decided to dismiss the coach. "A coach's performance is measured by the results which were not forthcoming," he said. Stimela said Radipotsane was on a three-month probation and had not been given a contract. He said under the coach, BMC was not playing its usual game. The players were indisciplined and did not respect the coach. "The players were not showing commitment that there was P1 million at stake," he said.
