Ryushin Kan Africa chief instructor visits

The style was introduced in the country two years ago but got registered early this year following several disapprovals from Botswana Karate Association (BOKA). During his visit, Jacobs who is Zone VI secretary general is expected to pay a courtesy call on Tshepo Dipatane, the secretary general of the style in Africa. The two are expected to discuss whether Ghana should join the style.

Botswana and South Africa are the only African countries that have introduced the style. In Botswana, Jacobs is expected to assess and grade local chief instructor, Andrew Dobolo. A tournament will be held at the University of Botswana in Gaborone in which local karatekas will host their South African counterparts as part of Jacobs' programme.
Dipatane believes that the visit will benefit the style as they hope to learn from Jacobs.
