Rustiness favour Fighters in play-offs

The Premier League promotion play-offs start in Francistown tomorrow with Mogoditshane Fighters favoured by the rustiness of its First Division opponents who have been idle for weeks. Fighters go into the play-offs fresh from a 3-3 draw with struggling Gaborone giants, Notwane in one of the last games of the be MOBILE Premier League.

The Mogoditshane side is still match fit and if it can reproduce the performance it gave against, Notwane, then its opponents, Jwaneng Comets and Miscellaneous of Serowe might have no chance of qualifying for the Premier League. Miscellaneous and former Premier League side Comets are in the play-offs after finishing second in north and south First Division respectively. Fighters were relegated from the Premier League after finishing 14th out of 16 clubs, a feat that saved them from a direct drop to First Division and gave them a chance to come back through the play-offs. The winners of the play-offs qualify for the Premier League.

Fighters' coach Letang Kgengwenyane and his troops would have to put behind them last weekend's disappointment when Nico United beat ECCO City Greens to secure a place in the be MOBILE Premier League at their expense.
