Phikwe hosts bowling tournament

SELEBI-PHIKWE: The Selebi-Phikwe Bowling Club will host the annual Tuli Trophy Tournament this weekend. Botsogo Health Plan has forked P12, 000 to sponsor the tournament for the first time.

The Botsogo Tuli Trophy is one of the major events under the Botswana Bowling Association (BBA) calendar. Six clubs, Orapa, Francistown, Gaborone, Lobatse, Jwaneng and the hosts Phikwe would battle out for top honours in the tournament. Each is expected to send two teams of four players each.

Phikwe Bowling Club vice chairperson, Sandy Makole said the teams would be drawn into two groups. The draw was scheduled for last evening. Makole said they have not decided on the playing format but each team would play three games.
