The Botswana Premier League (BPL) yesterday dropped a bombshell, telling clubs participating in the Mascom Top 8 semi finals that it is unable to pay their P50, 000 appearance fee.

The clubs, Township Rollers, Gaborone United (GU), Mochudi Centre Chiefs and BDF XI, have therefore been informed of a proposal to amend one of the articles of the knockout competition's rules and regulations.

The initial agreement was that each team would get an appearance fee of P50, 000 for each match. Now the BPL has written to the four teams proposing the amendment of article 14 (financial regulations and incentives) of the competition rules and regulations.
