Paralympics body in fund raising walk

The Paralympics Association of Botswana (PASSOBO) will hold a 72-kilometre sponsored wheelchair walk from Lobatse to Gaborone to raise P150,000 on Saturday.

The money is meant to fund the National Paralympics Games scheduled for November 12-13. The walk will start at the Sbrana Mental Hospital in Lobatse through Otse and Boatle. It will end at Game City in Gaborone.

PASSOBO secretary general, Tendani Magazine, said they need about P150, 000 for the National Paralympics Games. The games were supposed to be held last month but were postponed partly because the association had not raised enough money. Standard Chartered Bank will meet 50 percent of the costs while PASSOBO has to meet the other half. PASSOBO executive committee members will be the main walkers on Saturday.
