P7m golf driving range opens

Botswana's first commercial state of the art golf driving range - Blue Tree - is now open for those who want to keep their golf swing in shape.

The new facility, located in Maruapula, Gaborone, was officially launched yesterday and looks to offer members and guests a top class golf and leisure experience. The driving range, built to the tune of P7 million, has nine target greens, 60 paved range bays with artificial grass mat systems imported from Canada. It also has a large grass putting, chipping greens and a bunker complex.

The project founders, Paul Kilner, a PGA professional, and former national team golfer Steve Smith, said the nine-hole chip and putt course had been designed to entertain children and adults alike. The entire facility is fully floodlit for evening events.
