The awards ceremony is normally held in March every year. The traditional sponsor, Barloworld, pulled out after this year's event and the BNSC is still to get a replacement.

"We have not signed anything with anybody yet but be assured that progress has been made as far as seeking sponsorship is concerned," the BNSC executive secretary Kitso Kemoeng, told Mmegi Sport yesterday. He expressed confidence that the awards ceremony would definitely take place. He said they are talking to potential sponsors and by the look of things, the results will be positive. "We will make an announcement concerning that (sponsorship) in due course," he said. Kemoeng would not say whether the glamorous event will have any changes.
