Nico to make kabelano debut

Selebi-Phikwe side, Nico United will make their debut in the Kabelano Cup to be held on August 17 in Lobatse.

United will join Mochudi Centre Chiefs, Township Rollers and Extension Gunners in the one-day spectacular, organisers announced at the official launch in Gaborone on Thursday. Nico were chosen after a stellar season in the be MOBILE Premier League saw the side finish runners-up to winners, Chiefs.

"We felt there was a need for a representative from the north and Nico are the right side after their performance in the league," Thapelo Nteta,  a member of the Kabelano Cup organising committee said.  Nico representative, Otto Ntsatsi gladly accepted the new challenge."We will do well as we are aware that we are also representing the north," Ntsatsi said.The Kabelano Charity Cup, which will for the first time, be bankrolled by Barclays Bank has been absent for more than six years due to the unavailability of a suitable venue.
