Nico players in boycott threat?

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Nico United players are reportedly planning to boycott tomorrow morning's Coca-Cola Cup match against Security Systems at the Siga Grounds in Ramotswa because of a pay dispute. Information reaching Mmegi Sport suggest that the players approached the club management this week for their dues but did not succeed hence the boycott threat.

"They placed an ultimatum before management that if they do not get paid, they will boycott their weekend Coke game in protest," disclosed a source.
Nico spokesman Etlhomilwe Raditshego dismissed the boycott reports though he conceded they owe players.

"There is no truth in this boycott issue. Of course we have some pay arrears with the players and we have discussed the issue with the players," said Raditshego. "Our players are very understanding. In fact we have reached a solution to the arrears issue with them and we will be paying them their dues when they return from the weekend game," he added. He explained that they could not pay the players in May because they had a cash flow problem.
