FRANCISTOWN: Mochudi Centre Chiefs coach, Madinda Ndlovu insists the reason he played a second string side in the club's 1-0 victory over TAFIC at the Francistown Stadium on Monday is because he is building a squad to defend the league championship and fight for other domestic honours next season.

Ndlovu said this in an interview with Mmegi Sport after their encounter with TAFIC. Against TAFIC, Ndlovu played youngsters who are not regulars such as, Kenamile Mani, who was used sparingly as a substitute this season and striker, Atang Klate Mmualefe, who scored in the dying minutes of the game to give the Kgatleng giants a victory.

The only players who have enjoyed a fair run under Ndlovu this season who played on the day were veteran skipper, Michael Mogaladi, and striker Godfrey Ngele. Midfielder Calvin Masire who was reduced to a spectator for the entire season was also among fringe Chiefs players who got a run against TAFIC:  "This is something (fielding a second string side) we started after winning the championship. We did this against Township Rollers and Nico. I gave these players a run because I want to have a closer look at them.
