Mooketsi Sparkles As Botswana Wins Rugby Cup

Defender, Mooketsi Mooketsi on Saturday scored three tries against Mauritius to see Botswana lift the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) Pool A held in Gaborone. Botswana took the tie played at the University of Botswana stadium 31-11.The hosts of the weeklong tournament pipped favorites Reunion, by goal difference of 57 to 49, after both finished the tournament with 10 points.

 

Against a robust Mauritian side that had already defeated tournament favorites Reunion 53-3, Botswana entered the last tie of the tournament with slim chances. However impressive goal tallies accrued against Swaziland (46-0) and Zambia (52-6) ensured that Botswana held some hopes of clinching the trophy even though the odds seemed to be against them taking into consideration the strength of their opponents.
