Molapi plays Cinderella with ECCO

FRANCISTOWN: ECCO City Greens caretaker coach Atshele Molapi has revealed that he is not ready to assume the head coach role at the club, despite having acquitted himself well at the club.

Early this year Molapi was appointed caretaker coach, replacing sacked Zambian mentor Christopher Tembo after the club experienced a slump in form. Since then Molapi has revived the club's fortunes.  Following his recent exploits, it is reported that many supporters believe Molapi should be considered for the role on a permanent basis.  But the ever-calm Molapi however played down the rumours, saying he was not ready to assume full responsibility. "I am aware that some people want me to be considered, but I am not ready for now because I am still learning the ropes and will only consider that role in the next two years.  "That is when I believe I would have gained enough knowledge. For now I am also focusing on my job at BMC, so I cannot carry out the rigours of a full-time coach because it entails a lot of things, "he said. The youthful Atshele, who holds a B coaching licence, joined ECCO in 1992 when the club was campaigning in the Third Division before winning promotion to the second division.

He played until the 2000 season when ECCO gained promotion to the First Division due to a niggling knee injury.
