Moatlhaping rejoins Rollers

International striker, Moemedi 'Jomo' Moatlhaping has agreed to rejoin Township Rollers on a two-year contract. The player sealed the deal on Wednesday amid speculations that cross-town rivals, Gaborone United (GU) have given him an attractive offer.

The striker landed in trouble at his club when he skipped a pre-season training camp. After the news that he was available, GU and Rollers bid for him. At some stage, the Reds were favourites to land him but Moatlhaping is said to have chickened out at a crucial moment.

"He had taken a contract from GU but Rollers' officials and supporters put him under tremendous pressure. He then started dodging GU people until they gave up on him. Believe me, the offer from GU was double what he is going to get at Rollers," said a source. It is understood that having played for Mapalastina in the past, some people thought that if Moatlhaping was to join GU, it would have been a serious betrayal.
Rollers' chairman Spencer Mmui, who was charged with luring back the player said yesterday that it was not an easy task.
