Mathare was outstanding

There has been a lot of animated talk surrounding the awards for performances in the Premier League. Many people have questioned whether some of the recipients deserved the awards. In a nutshell, the awards can be termed as controversial. However, this can be a subjective assessment depending on which side of the fence one is.

The most glaring error is the lack of transparency surrounding the decision on who gets which award.
If truth be told, there was little interrogation and objectivity. Seemingly, there was no reference points for the committee or body that made the selection. Up to now no one knows who made the decisions or the criteria. There ought to be transparency.

 Otherwise there will always be questions and suspicions. Yes, strikers usually make headlines whenever they score goals. While many people are of the view that Pontsho Moloi should have won the player of the year award, I honestly feel that the man who was robbed of the title was Nicholas 'Mambush' Mathare of ECCO City Greens.
