After losing top marksman Master Masitara to a Mozambican club, Nico United seems to have unleashed another deadly striker on the be MOBILE Premier League.

Newly-signed Tendai Ndoro has sent an early warning that he can fill Masitara's big boots by scoring a brace in his debut and then sinking Police XI with a solitary strike. The performance has caught the eye of Masitara, the top striker in the Premier League in the last two seasons. Masitara believes that  Ndoro can gatecrash the top scorers' chart this season and come out tops if he maintains his perfect start. He said the striker has what it takes to excel in Botswana.

Ndoro has been touted as a perfect replacement for Masitara but it remains to be seen whether he will maintain his form throughout the season. "I'm happy Nico managed to get themselves a good striker. After spending two seasons at Nico, the club became close to my heart and it is my desire to see them do well," Masitara said. "I know Tendai (Ndoro) and no one can doubt that he is a good striker and if he can stay focused and keep working hard, he can achieve a lot in Botswana. "He has started well. Scoring a brace in your first game as a striker is quite a promising start. So he just has to build on that," said Masitara from his base in Maputo.  The former Railstars' striker remembers how he became an instant hit at Nico three seasons ago. In his first season in Botswana football, Nico had a sluggish start but the slippery forward remained a shining beacon even in defeat.  "If there's one man I miss in Botswana, it is (Fish) Thobo Kgoboge.  "I actually attribute part of what I achieved in Botswana to him. We had an amazing understanding, which helped me adapt to the Nico style of play quickly," said the Liga Desportiva Muculmana forward. "So Tendai should understand that it is all about teamwork. If he gets that into his head, he will achieve a lot in football," added the 28-year-old striker.
