Makwala sends early warning to track rivals

Sprinter, Isaac Makwala has given an early warning of what he is capable of this year when he notched a double in the first Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) track and field event of 2011 on Saturday.

Makwala out-sprinted the previously dominant Fanuel Kenosi to win the men's 200m before beating Daniel Legamang to lift the 400m crown at the New Lobatse Stadium.

In the women's competition, Lydia Mashila was impressive when she won the 400m. Mashila started the race at a high pace and did not relent till the end. She was trailed home by Goitseone Seleka and Botshwanetsemang Pifelo.
