OTSE: BDF VI were lucky to beat Police VI 3-2 to register their sixth win in the Mascom Volleyball League over the weekend.

They won 25-20, 25-16 and 20-18 to emerge tops despite the fact that they struggled throughout the game. They got a lucky break when Police stumbled at the last hurdle. The formidable Police players stood tall and were very hard to crack.

The army side started on the right footing but did not know what hit them in the second set when Police came back with all guns blazing. The ever green Agisanyang Kurwana looked ordinary for BDF VI as the marauding Police turned blocked his spikes with easy. When it became clear that Police did not fear his spikes, Kurwana opted for short balls but this did not work either. The combination of setter Jackson Kewakae, Tshepo Iketeng and Mompati Mere gave the soldiers a tough time.
