Local basketball referee to officiate SA finals

Nearly a month after turning professional, FIBA accredited local referee, Mothusi Phokoje will officiate at the South African Basketball National League (BNL) finals in Johannesburg on Saturday.

Phokoje, who started officiating in the basketball league earlier this year, will officiate the three-game play-off as the Egoli Magic and Duzi Royals wrestle each other for rights to the throne.

Phokoje told Mmegi Sport that he was invited by the Basketball South Africa to come and try out in their professional league.
