Kgale Wins Schools' Coca-Cola Cup

Kgale Junior Secondary School from Gaborone was crowned Copa Coca-Cola Cup champions on Friday after beating Montsamaisa Junior Secondary School from Francistown 4-2 in the final.

The game at the Botswana Football Association (BFA) Lekidi Centre headquarters in Gaborone started on a fast pace with both teams going for the kill. Fans were kept on the edge in the six-goal thriller. Montsamaisa dominated possession and had several chances to win the match but on-form Kgale goalkeeper, Thabiso Bobby Mathe stood tall between the posts pulling-off save after save. The young custodian showed his peers why he is playing for Premier League side, Mochudi Centre Chiefs. The Kgale boys were the first to score midway into the first half through a well-taken free kick by Norman Sefudi.

Montsamaisa pushed forward for an equaliser but were thwarted by good goalkeeping from Mathe. Sefudi completed his brace when he easily slotted in a cross from a corner. Montsamaisa managed to pull one back in the second half through Same Olatotse but it was not long before Kgale restored their two-goal advantage from a penalty. Godiraone Bumagaya put the last nail into the visitors' coffin with the fourth goal. With fatigue starting to take its toll on the Kgale boys, Montsamaisa took advantage through Oteng Gaolatlhiwi to score the second goal. But it was too late too little as the referee blew the final whistle a few seconds after the goal. The tournament was held under the aegis of the Botswana Integrated Sports Association (BISA).
