Former national team softball coach, Sthando Kgosiyang who resigned last week on the eve of the world championships has said he was forced out of his job.

He said he was told to quit by a senior Botswana Softball Association (BSA) official after accusations that he was not committed to the team preparing for the world event. He said it was surprising that the BSA wanted to make it appear that he walked out of camp or resigned voluntarily. "What I got from the national team was just too much for me," he said. He asserted that there was no way he could resign when he had already paid the P14,000 needed from each official for the trip. The coach said he cannot 'resign' at a critical moment when the nation needed him most.

Kgosiyang said he was called to a meeting by BSA officials where he was ordered to quit. He said he was given a piece of paper to draft his resignation letter.
