Hapless Zebras crash out to Mali

The nation's dreams were shattered on Saturday as the Zebras failed to secure a place at the 2013 Orange AFCON after putting up a lacklustre performance in a 4-1 loss to Mali in the second leg of the qualifiers played at the new Lobatse Stadium.
The two-legged qualifier ended in an embarrassing 1-7 aggregate score for Botswana granting Mali a ticket to South Africa next year. In a reverse of expectations of the small crowd at the new stadium among them President Ian Khama, Zebras conceded four goals without a reply, the same number of goals they needed to overcome the 0-3 deficit they carried from the first leg.
