Gunners' funeral deal still on the cards

Extension Gunners have said they are still negotiating with a funeral undertaker to seal a sponsorship deal worth P300,000 per season.

News of the intended sponsorship became public mid this year but since then not much has been heard about the matter. However, Gunners' spokesman, Kitso Dlamini has said that despite the delay, they hope to clinch a deal with the funeral company. He explained that the sponsorship involves many aspects like funeral cover for supporters and discussion over issues like premiums the fans will pay for the service have held up negotiations. He said the club will issue a loyalty card which would enable supporters to benefit from the sponsors. He added that work on the modalities of the sponsorship has delayed the conclusion of the deal. He said they are also negotiating with other stakeholders like the league sponsors, be MOBILE as they want the company to become part of the loyalty card. "We are negotiating with be MOBILE to put their logo on the loyalty card," he said.

Dlamini stated that the proposed benefits for supporters like funeral cover, will be extended to players.  This will mean that the club will have to look at the players' contracts again.
