Gunners back CAF tourney overhaul calls

Botswana's representative in next year's edition of the CAF Confederations Cup, Exentsion Gunners has backed South Africa's calls for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to overhaul Africa club competitions' format.

South Africa Premier League chairman, Irvin Khoza proposed wholesale changes to the tournament as part of cost-cutting measures.  Khoza said to avoid cash-strapped clubs from Africa from making long trips across the continent in the opening rounds of the club competitions, representatives from respective regions should play preliminary rounds against each other.

Khoza revealed that they had asked the Cosafa region to canvass the proposal in their behalf.
