Gaborone United (GU) have reportedly parted ways with coach Mike Sithole after their 3-2 loss to ECCO City Greens on Saturday.

Although the club spokesperson Romeo Benjamin would not confirm, sources say the club decided to fire Sithole on Sunday evening.

Benjamin said they would only issue an official statement today though inside sources say the decision has already been taken. It is said that GU management were not impressed with the recent performances of the team. Out of 15 games played so far, GU have won six games, drawn six and lost three. They have collected a total number of 24 points, 12 behind the log leaders, Township Rollers. It is not clear what will happen to some of the senior players who were put on the transfer list last week but there are reports that some could return. Sithole rejoined GU at the start of the season from BMC. He was fired the previous season despite having won the league with them during the 2008-2009 season.
