FRANCISTOWN: Relegated Great North Tigers (GNT) will undergo a major shake-up with half a dozen players out of the club's plans for their expedition in the unfashionable First Division North League next season.

This follows a disappointing year in the just ended 2011/12 beMOBILE Premier League in which they surrendered their premiership status, despite signing some fine and experienced players from their cross town rivals, TAFIC.The Edward Leposo coached outfit signed leftback Osenyeng Tsenang, fullback Nkosinathi Dube and forward Tamocha Bedi in a move aimed at bringing stability in the most critical departments; however, they still failed to cling onto their premiership status.

Mengistu Chigala, the GNT spokesperson, confirmed that they will be releasing a number of players who are not in their plans for the next season. He, however would not be drawn into disclosing the names of the players earmarked for release: "We currently have a squad of 24 players. But we are looking at remaining with a squad of 18 players for next season. Some will be completely released from the GNT books while others are going to be loaned to other clubs either in the Premier League or First Division," said Chigala. Chigala said the names of those who will be affected by the shake-up will be released in due course. It is said that players who did not deliver on what the club required of them will leave.
