GNT in hot soup

FRANCISTOWN: Great North Tigers (GNT) will appear before the First Division North League Disciplinary Committee (DC) to face charges pertaining to their failure to honour a league fixture in January.

The former premiership side were expected to play against Two-Two-Five FC at Senete village, but failed to honour the fixture due to bereavement.Sources said the league committee had initially accepted GNT's justification for their failure to honour the fixture.

However, it is said investigations launched independently by the league committee following an alleged tip-off from the Two-Two-Five have revealed that GNT actually "lied." Informed sources said the alleged funeral that GNT claim to have attended was a distant one and could have not prevented them from travelling some 130 kilometres from their Francistown base.
