* Football thrown into confusion
* Fate of the clubs still unclear

The Gaborone region is reportedly divided over the issue of expelling clubs that have failed to pay affiliation fees before the cut-off date. Some members of the Gaborone region association have distanced themselves from a decision to reinstate six offending clubs.

The committee met on Tuesday and took a decision to fine the six clubs: Police XI, Security Systems, Steady Boys, Botswana Vaccine Institute, Junior Milan and Wildlife FC, and reinstate them. However, it has emerged that the committee  is divided over the issue and some members have written a letter to the Botswana Football Association (BFA) national executive committee (NEC) saying they are not part of that decision. This is despite the fact that four members of the seven-member committee were present at the Tuesday meeting. According to the chairperson of the regional association, Albert Gaopelo, they called a meeting on Tuesday, but three of the committee members did not attend. He said the treasurer, Isaac Chilisa, and two additional members, Thapelo Mothusi and Wetsho Ntatane were absent. Apparently Chilisa informed Gaopelo that he was not going to be part of the meeting if they were going to deliberate on the letters from the teams that chose not to affiliate. Two other members reportedly said they would not make it as they were held up somewhere.
