The Gaborone Indoor Soccer League got a major boost on Thursday when it received a P70,500 donation from the First National Bank of Botswana (FNBB). The donation was handed over at Lekidi Football Centre, the headquarters of the Botswana Football Association (BFA).

The money was raised by FNBB through its visa card road to 2010 World Cup campaign. Speaking at the handing over ceremony, Boiki Tema, the new business development officer at FNBB described the event as a special one. "This marks a very special event as FNBB is partnering with yet another sporting code in the country.

"Indoor soccer is a newborn baby in the country's sporting fraternity which needs careful nurturing for it to grow, and we at FNBB are proud to be involved in the nurturing of this new child," Tema said. He added that they have been using the five-a side indoor soccer to raise public awareness on the upcoming World Cup in South Africa next year.
