GU showed its intention to get an early goal in the 12th minute after a good run by Ronald Chikomo from the middle of the park. He made a good exchange with Kgololo Kgogobi but Mcgini Sibanda was able to clear the danger. GU was on attack again inside the 18th minute through Edwin Olerile but his shot did not shake Murambiwa Ndlovu.
The Cheetahs tried to catch GU with a counter-attack in the 29th minute but Bokamoso Digwere's shot was cleared for a corner. Satmos also made another good move through Patrick Kaunda in the 25th minute but Shoes Selefa was on alert to save the day.
