The results of the past weekend's Mascom Top 8 have set up interesting semi finals, which will see four Gaborone-based sides battling it out for a place in the final. BDF XI, Gaborone United (GU), Township Rollers and Mochudi Centre Chiefs all booked their places in the semi finals following their victories in the last eight.

Mogoditshane Fighters were the first to bite the dust on Saturday despite their healthy lead going into the second leg of the quarterfinals. Against free scoring Chiefs, Fighters failed to defend the two-goal cushion. Many had expected Fighters to crowd the midfield to frustrate Chiefs who are dangerous when starting build-ups from the middle. However, they allowed Chiefs midfielder, Elvis Meleka in particular to dictate terms. In the end, Chiefs managed to score three goals and forced the two sides to go for extra time where substitute, Phenyo Mongala's goal settled the match.

BMC looked to be on course to book a semi final berth, leading 2-1 with just under three minutes of stoppage time left on the clock. However, Zebras' midfielder, Lemponye Tshireletso stunned them in the dying minutes with a beautiful free kick. The goal came moments after BMC blew their chances on the other end. BMC created better chances and looked the better side going forward in the second half. BDF XI on the other hand will be happy with their progress after being knocked out in the quarterfinals by Rollers last year. Letang Kgengwenyane decided to put captain, Jones Kwape on the bench for the entire match with Mokgathi Mokgathi playing alone up front.Like in the first leg, ECCO will rue missed chances against a side that has dominated them for couple of seasons. While Tendai Nyumasi and Patrick Lenyeletse looked dangerous on attack, they just could not finish their opponents off until they were punished. The return of Mmoloki Kafuko did little to stop Ntesang Simanyana who was Rollers' creative mind on Saturday. However they did a good job on the sides, leaving little room for Rollers' skillful wingers, Lovemore Murirwa and Sekhana Koko.
