ECCO appoint task team to secure sponsor

FRANCISTOWN: Premier League outfit ECCO City Greens have appointed a four-man task team as well as Glamour Group International, a sports agency owned by local FIFA-accredited agent Comfort Exotic Ramatebele to help the club secure sponsorship.

The decision was influenced by the club's die-hard supporters during a closed door meeting with the executive at Phatsimo Primary School over the weekend.The decision to appoint the task force comes after last week's announcement by the controversy-ridden Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) that it will gradually pull out from sponsoring the club. The loss-making commission will also stop backing another elite league side, the Lobatse-based outfit, BMC.

The task team comprises club Chairperson Mothibedi Lathang, his assistant Stanley Mababa, Shato Manyanda the club's communications and marketing manager and secretary general Moses Jackson.Yesterday, Lathang confirmed in an interview that ECCO had appointed a task team in a bid to secure sponsorship."Yes, I have been appointed together with the vice secretary, secretary general and the communications manager to secure sponsorship for the team. We also have a memorandum of agreement with Glamour Group International signed late last year. The agreement entails the company to help secure sponsorship for us. The agreement has not been fully active since it was mooted, we will soon engage the agency to start seriously assisting the club get a sponsor," he said.
