Drama as Ecco beat Gunners

FRANCISTOWN: Sparks literally flew and drama was the order of the day as ECCO City Greens and Extension Gunners put up a scintillating display of football in heavy downpour at the Francistown Stadium on Sunday. Although ECCO emerged 2-0 victors in the be MOBILE Premier League game, the two sides were at each other's throats from the first whistle.

The pouring rain and the soggy pitch did not dampen the spirits of the players who waged battle throughout the match. The clap of thunder when the two teams trooped to the flooded pitch was perhaps a sign that the match will be an explosive affair. Like marabou storks, Gunners were clad in black and white while ECCO wore green.

Dark clouds hung ominously over the stadium as the game started and the heavens opened further raising fears that the duel will not last the distance. ECCO were the first to go on the attack with Nicholas Matlhare releasing a dangerous ball in the fifth minute from the right but the advancing Master 'General' Masuku could not connect the cross.
