Sebego had said they had options to adopt the initiative or reject it but FIFA has said all national associations were expected to amend their constitutions in line with new requirements.

“Every FIFA member association has the obligation to ratify statutes that are in compliance with the requirements of the FIFA Standard Statutes (see art. 14, 1 f of the FIFA Statutes). As a consequence, FIFA assisted the BFA in the elaboration of a new constitution to bring it in line with FIFA requirements. The BFA was part and parcel of that process and the new constitution was adopted by its congress,” FIFA spokesperson, Aloïs Hug told Monitor Sport.
