Mochudi Buffaloes Grounds is expected to be the scene of a thriller when two Premier League giants, Gaborone United and Police XI clash in a Coca-Cola Cup match on Sunday. Past meetings between the two sides have always produced fireworks and if history is anything to go by, sparks are expected to fly on Sunday.

GU coach, Luke Masomere told Mmegi Sport that they have been preparing well for the tough encounter. He said they have been hampered by injuries in their last game, but he is hopeful that most of his players will be available for selection. Playmaker, Tshepo 'Schoolboy' Molefe, will make a comeback after sustaining injuries, which ruled him out of the last game. Influential captain Joseph Phetogo will return against Police XI after suspension to marshal the defence. He will have an able partner in new signing, Bosarutweng 'Booster' Magola, the former ECCO City Greens captain. Masomere said that Ronald Chikomo is expected to pass late fitness test before the game. He has been doing light training this week.

But Moyagoleele as GU are popularly known, will be without one of the most feared strikers in the country, Sageby Sandaka, who will be serving a suspension. Masomere expressed hope that the other players will do the job. In the absence of Sandaka, the search for goals will be led by striker Edmore Mufema. The two Zimbabweans have formed a good combination since they arrived at GU last season. Masomere said they are expecting a very tough game against Police XI. "Police XI are former champions and they are also a very good team, so we expect them to give us a very tough match," he said.
He stated that their new signings are settling well in the team. He also revealed that though they have not made any signings in the past week, they are targeting a number of players for recruitment.
