Choppies finals billed for tomorrow

Four clubs are still in contention for the Choppies' sponsored annual netball tournament, which ends tomorrow.

Defending champions BDF Cats, Notwane, TASC and Phikwe Prisons will be drawn tomorrow morning to play in the semis before the final in the afternoon at the BONA Courts in Gaborone. BDF Cats' coach, Setshedi Mmopi said on Thursday that though some of her players have not been well, they will have recovered by tomorrow to play.

She stated that the rainy weather might affect their performance, though they are ready for the challenge. However, she decried the declining standards in the country's netball. She said the standards can be improved by staging more competitions. She lamented that local netball is no longer interesting because the same clubs always make the finals. She said her team has lost its spark because the players do not get enough competition from opponents.
