Chiefs, Stars play out stalemate

The highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Platinum Stars failed to deliver as the two sides played out to a goalless draw.

Still, it's a point that takes Amakhosi ever closer to a first title since 2004/05 as they remain six points clear of second-placed Dikwena with just three matches remaining. However, if third-placed Orlando Pirates win their game in hand the lead will be cut to just four points.

Chiefs started the brighter and had two early chances through Siphiwe Tshabalala and Bernard Parker, but both shot wide. But Stars have been playing some amazing football this season and almost scored a goal to match when Henrico Botes attempted a cheeky back-heel, which came back off the woodwork.Parker then headed wide for Tshabalala's corner-kick before Kingston Nkhatha squandered a glorious opportunity when put through one-on-one with Siyabonga Mpontshane.
