Mochudi Centre Chiefs beat Mozambican side, Maxaquene 1-0 in the second leg of the

CAF Champions League match played at Molepolole Sports Complex on Saturday. Defender, Tshepo Motlhabankwe struck in the second half to set up an interesting date against continental giants, TP Mazembe of Democratic Republic of Congo in the second round of the competition.

Magosi went into the match with a huge advantage, having won 1-0 away in the first leg. Coach, Madinda Ndlovu started with Jerome Ramatlhakwana up front with Dirang Moloi playing just behind him. Ramatlhakwana scored the only goal of the match away in Mozambique in the first leg. Kekaetswe 'Mara' Moloi was the surprise omission from the starting line up for Chiefs especially after his hat-trick in the midweek against Uniao Flamengo Santos. The match produced little scoring opportunities in the first half with a cautious Chiefs trying to avoid conceding a goal. Although they needed a win by more than a goal to advance, Maxaquene never looked like scoring in the first half. The only real chance of the first 45 minutes came Chiefs' way in the 14th minute. Winger, Galabgwe Moyana sent in a telling cross in the box and Ramatlhakwana tried to pounce but Maxaquene goalkeeper, Acacio Mahumana parried the ball away.
