Chiefs plan for demanding Mazembe

With players reported to be earning as much as $3,000 (P24,000) a week and a private jet to boot, Mochudi Centre Chiefs' next opponent in the CAF Champions League, Tout Puissant (TP) Mazembe of DR Congo would surely be a handful on and off the field.

Mazembe is expected to jet into Botswana on Wednesday for the CAF duel this weekend. While CAF stipulates a travelling team of 25 people, the DRC side comes with a large entourage of 54 with demands to stay at a five-star hotel, Chiefs' communications manager, Clifford Mogomotsi told the media last Friday.

CAF stipulates require the host team to find adequate accommodation for visitors. Teams can however pay for their accommodation and Mazembe seem not to have any problems digging into their pockets to settle bills. Club president Moise Katumbi, a billionaire Roman Abramovichsque character has confirmed he will fly to Botswana on Saturday morning with his private jet to watch the match.
