BTA Gets Sponsorship For ITF Junior Event

Botswana Tennis Association (BTA) has made major strides in raising the P300,000 it needs to host the 31st International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Confederation of African Tennis (CAT) African Junior Championships to be held in Gaborone next week.

By Friday, BTA had raised about P260,000 from Debswana, Stanbic Bank, Barclays, Orange, Motor Centre, Standard Chartered and First National Bank Botswana (FNBB). Other companies like Sanitas, Creative Thinking, African Alliance and Gaborone Sun have given sponsorship in kind.

Speaking at the tournament launch on Friday, BTA president Judge Mookodi said it is not every country that would get an opportunity to host the event in consecutive years on two occasions.
