BSA Gets Funds For World Cup

After a period of uncertainty, it has been confirmed that the men softball team will take part in the World Championships in Saskatoon, Canada.

The tournament starts next week. The Botswana team is scheduled to leave for the event tomorrow. The team's participation in the event has not been certain because of a shortage of funds. But the good news is that after a struggle that appeared doomed to fail, the Botswana Softball Association (BSA) has raised enough money to take the team to Canada.

BSA spokesperson, Kabelo Kwape said they managed to get money from other sources after their fund raising activities failed. He stated that all the players and officials managed to pay their contributions to make the trip. The players paid P7,000 each while officials paid P14,000 towards the cost of buying air tickets. The team has played a series of friendly games with their South African counterparts and local sides.
