BFA delegates meet for the General Assembly on Saturday

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) delegates converge at Tlotlo Conference Centre tomorrow to deliberate on the state of local football. Amongst the motions that would be discussed, include the proposed changes to the appointment of Botswana Premier League (BPL) chairperson.

The BPL will attempt to push through a motion that seeks to amend the constitution and see the appointment of the BPL chairperson picked from competent candidates, even if they are not in the board. “We have a motion, which seeks to amend Article 12.5.2.3 of the constitution regarding the appointment of the BPL chairperson. The proposal is that the constitution be amended to allow the BPL Board to appoint any person, even if she/he is not a member of the board,” Thabo Ntshinogang said.

Top-flight clubs have shied away from tabling a motion that seeks to reduce the 16-team league, to ensure sustainability in the face of limited financial resources.
