The Botswana netball team finished third at South Africa's Diamond Challenge after beating Zambia 45-36 in the third and fourth place play-off on Saturday.

The tournament, featuring four countries - South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Malawi - started last Tuesday and ended yesterday in Pretoria.

The victory against Zambia was the second for Botswana team against Chipolopolo in this year's tournament. Botswana had beaten Zambia 59-36 in the round robin match on Friday. The Zambians this time around looked more determined and fought throughout the entire match. Botswana were the first on the score sheet with goal attacker, Tumisang Bagidi netting two quick baskets. Bagidi together with goal shooter, Lemogang Moganetsi were inspirational upfront and their accuracies made the difference. Botswana's most trusted forward Tebogo Radipotsane sat the entire match on the bench. Zambia had better ball possession in the first quarter but were let down by poor shooting. The first quarter ended with Botswana leading 10-8.
