Botswana meet Malawi in CAF U-17 qualifiers

Botswana will play Malawi away in the first round of the CAF U-17 qualifiers slated for the weekend of September 7,8,9 this year.

The finals will be played in 2013 in Morocco. The return leg will be held on September 21,22,23. Should Botswana prevail against Malawi, they will go on to meet Rwanda in the  2nd round of the qualifiers in the weekend of October 12,14 this year, with the second leg coming on the weekend of 26, 27, 28. Then Botswana could take the winner  between Burkinafasso and the  winner between Reunion vs Namibia in the 3rd round, coming in November, 16,17 18, 2012. Meanwhile in the  CAF U-20 fixtures Botswana meet Zimbabwe in April 20,21,22 in Zimbabwe in the  1st round of the U-20 Championships to be held in Algeria next year. The winner between Botswana and Zimbabwe will go on to take on Angola in the 2nd round of the qualifiers in July and August. Should they prevail against both Angola and Zimbabwe, Botswana will find the winner between Kenya and Egypt in waiting in the 3rd round.

Botswana teams have traditionally struggled to make it to the finals of the CAF age based competitions. The last team to  qualify for  any CAF aged based side was the Sox Molwantwa and Masego Nchingane group in the late 90's.
