Botswana falters as Egypt maintains squash dominance

Egypt dominated the just-ended Under-19 All-Africa Junior Squash Championships in Windhoek, Namibia, winning the gold medal in the team event, while Botswana A managed a seventh place finish out of 11 countries.

Botswana B team finished 11th.
In the individual boys' events where 32 players from 11 African countries had been drawn together, Botswana's best player Mickey Joseph managed was 25th with Theo Pelonomi and Kabo Joseph finishing 27 and 28 respectively. Ephraim Motlhaping and Elliot Sibanda were 29th and 31st.

In the girls' category, Ashante Tabengwa was 14th out of 19, while Tebogo Ntusa was 16th. Michelle Nkgwang and Chadiwa Moyo were 17th and 18th respectively. Pre-tournament favourites Egypt lived up to the billing when they won the team title on Friday after beating South Africa 3-0 in the final.
