Boteti mean business

Newly-promoted Boteti Young Fighters did not win their first game against champions ECCO City Greens by luck. They play good football and they mean business.

They followed the 3-0 ECCO humiliation when they came from two goals down to earn a deserved point in a 2-2 draw with giants Township Rollers. However last weekend, they tasted their first defeat when they went down 1-0 to Coca-Cola Cup champions BMC away in Lobatse.

The loss was not a true reflection of the game. It was a lucky escape for BMC as they were made to look ordinary by the visiting Boteti side, especially in the second half. BMC goalkeeper Cosmos Lombala was called to make several vital saves in the second half to keep off the minnows. He was tested by a thunderbolt from Mogomotsi Ferguson in the 48th minute before he made another brave save from Derick Ntumbe a few moments later. When Lombala was finally beaten by Ferguson in the 78th minute, he was saved by the crossbar much to the relief of BMC fans. The capability of BMC to withstand the pressure was boosted with the introduction of Modise Motswadi.
