FRANCISTOWN: The Botswana Netball Association (BONA) Northern Zone League committee is working towards setting up a Disciplinary Committee (DC) to tackle affiliates' cases expeditiously.

Kgomotso Mtokufa, the BONA Northern Zone league chairperson, said she is set to meet with the BONA leadership to deliberate on the setting up of a disciplinary committee.Mtokufa said the envisaged disciplinary committee would be tasked with punishing those found guilty of any wrongdoing in the northern cluster."DC is a component of the game of netball. And it is a crucial body within any organization," said Mtokufa in an interview. According to Mtokufa, the establishment of an independent disciplinary committee will encourage the professional running of the game. She said committee will be composed of mostly retired netball administrators because they do understand the game like the back of their palms.

Mtokufa said the decision to establish a disciplinary committee is not due to an upsurge in indiscipline in the zone. The establishment of the disciplinary committee is aimed at being ready for any eventualities, she said."Our clubs are generally obedient serve for few cases. The establishment will ensure that current tranquillity prevails. We are just trying to stem the tide," she said.If all goes according to plan, Mtokufa said a disciplinary committee would be functional before the end of the current season.
