The Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) will hold its elections and Annual General Meeting tomorrow in Gantsi where current officials are expected to be retained. BNSC vice-chairperson, Nomsa Mbere is unopposed while former treasurer, Boitshoko Tsiane is trying his luck against the incumbent Gabriel Ngele.

Tsiane was ousted in last year's elections. Sesupo Mosweu is unopposed in his bid to remain additional member. The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Gladys Kokorwe will appoint the BNSC chairperson. The position is currently held by Daniel Tau who was appointed last year to replace Dorcas Makgato-Malesu. It is believed that Tau he will be retained. He has been in the position for a short period hence most people believe he should be given more time since he has shown potential and leadership skills.

On Sunday, Kokorwe will launch the Re Ba Bona Ha youth programme (football) at Gantsi Primary School. Fedelis Molao of BNSC said this time, they have decided to meet in Gantsi so as to take sport to the people. Most sports bodies hold their AGMs and elections in Gaborone. Molao said it is the intention of BNSC to take meetings to a different venue every year.
