The Zebras created an avalanche of chances in the match, but failed to convert any to goals. Zebras coach Stan Tshosane had started the match with a strong offensive formation with Jerome Ramatlhakwana and Moemedi Moatlhaping playing upfront with Lemponye Tshireletso and Phenyo Mongala supporting from the wings. The ever-improving Dirang Moloi was at his usual best in the midfield creating chances for his teammates.The first half saw play swinging from end to end with both sides trying to get the opener, but to no avail.
Tshireletso had probably the best chance of the half to put Botswana up, but missed from close range in the 33rd minute. The match went for recess still locked at 0-0. Zebras continued where they left off in the second half creating numerous chances. Mongala looked dangerous running down the flank and also came close to scoring. Ramatlhakwana missed another great chance in the 50th minute after beating the goalkeeper and shooting wide.Swaziland goalkeeper, Nhlanhla Gwebu also did an excellent job to keep his side in contention making several crucial saves. Noah Maposa was also called to action on several occasions in the second half to deny Sihlangu a goal. He made an excellent save to deny Wonder Nhleko's brilliant strike in the 82nd minute.
